I believe…that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
Pot of Gold
Jan 16th
Sometimes it’s important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it’s essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow. ~~Douglas Pagels

You Build on Failure
Jan 8th
You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space. ~~Johnny Cash
Have You Ever Judged Someone?
Jan 6th
Have you ever judged someone from what you have been told?
Have you ever turned your head to think her type as bold?
Did you ever stop to think her husband was abusive?
There are two sides to every story so why is his conclusive?
I am a woman who has lived in an abusive home.
I am a woman who held secrets that others have not known.
I am a woman that broke free from a strangling life,
now, today, to be known as the “vicious wife”.
I try to walk through this town with my head held high,
then someone I know turns their head and silently I cry.
It took tremendous inner strength to spread my wings and fly.
I chose to live my life in freedom, chose not to wither and die.
An abusive husband is a very charming kind.
“I am abusive” stamped on his head you will never find.
He will plead the innocent victim when his family falls apart.
He will make her life a misery as she struggles for a new start.
So if you’ve you ever judged me from what you have been told.
Today is your day to look in the mirror to see the one who’s bold.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~~Marianne Williamson

Necessary to Progress
Dec 30th
Emergencies have always been necessary to progress. It was darkness which produced the lamp. It was fog that produced the compass. It was hunger that drove us to exploration. And it took a depression to teach us the real value of a job. ~~Victor Hugo
Start Where You Stand
Dec 14th
Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along. ~~Napoleon Hill
